after the shitshow that was saturday night, followed by new jersey's decision not to play brodeur (if youre gonna comment defending the devils decision dont bother, ill just delete it), im still excited for playoff hockey. im only predicting who wins because im bored and i want an excuse to listen to this panda bear album again before i go to sleep.
Detroit v Calgary
this is some weak shit. I love kipper, love calgary, and i love the wings. Im not happy about this matchup. i hope on thursday the wild skate out against the wings. I was gonna make a pun about kronwall and and hasek being a wall but fuck it. kipper can win this series, but he prolly wont. detroit in 6.
Anaheim v Minnesota
quack quack quack. ducks in 6, 5 if jsg kills it ducks in 4.
Vancouver v Dallas
i like brendan morrow, but im all about luongo and the sedin twins driving their volvos. i wish naslund would play better. vancouver is one of my favorite teams in the playoffs. dont mess with texas? fuck texas. free willys in 3.
Nashville v San Jose
another matchup i didnt want to see. i like nashville, kariya, sullivan, forsberg, and i like san jose, thornton, cheechoo, marleau. not much i can say about this series, but it might be really awesome to watch. shoddy goaltending could ruin it. jps been to a preds game and said it was like an awful circus nightmare. hannan has the worst name in the league. "hannan". prolly nashville in 7, although i dont think i care.
Buffalo v Islanders
i think ppl are done bitching about the sabres new logo, sadly. i love dury, briere, pominville, millers, and the sabres are a quality deserving hockey team. fuck the islanders. slugs in 5.
New Jersey v Tampa Bay (vinny and st. louis v brodeur)
this should be the best series of the first round. brodeur can win this series, but so can the vinny and st. louis. i dk whats going to happen, but im pulling for the lightning. devils in 6. oh and i like dan boyle a lot.
Atlanta v Rangers
meh, rangers in 6, but id prefer atlanta to win. i sort of hate the rangers.
Ottawa v Pittsburgh
my work partner says he hates crosby because "he plays like a pussy faggot", well brad i still like sids and the penguins. ive liked the penguins since scotty and mario and im glad theyre doing well again. i like fleury in net, crosby, oulette, malkin and two of my fav players from the last decade or so gary roberts and mark recchi. watch out for roberts to start killing people and scoring in the playoffs. no battle of ontario this year sadly, if i were from ottawa id like ottawa but im not, so i sort of hate them (btw when i say "sort of hate" it means im indifferent towards them unless a team i like is playing them, then i hate them, no "sort of"). As id like vancouver to come out of the west, id like for tampa bay or "les penguins" to come out of the east.
anyways, i cant wait...also, id love to see ovechkin in the playoffs. id fucking love it. is he untradeable? cause id be happy if he were elsewhere (montreal, toronto, detroit).
on this note...cbc said 2500 season ticket holders for the wings didnt pick up their playoff tickets...i checked availability and you can actually get tickets for the playoffs...would anyone be willing to spend the 50-100 to go to a playoff game with me? j/c
