Illinois: The First Three Days
So, at the moment I'm sitting here watching Patrick dance to Spice Girls- "Spice up your Life." It's quite cute, but there's a reason that the two of us don't go out dancing, hehe.
The drive up was long, but not as bad as I had predicted. I don't mind long drives, especially with good friends. We arrived around 9 Friday night, and we were greeted by lots of family. It was a nice stepping into a room full of people I didn't know and immediately feeling like family. They were all so warm and excited that I was here. His family reminds me a lot of my family in New Orleans. People are in and out of the house, and everyone comes over for dinners. It's been really nice.
We went shopping Saturday, and I spent far too much money on clothes. I needed some new jeans and such though, so it's ok.
This afternoon, we're going to St. Louis for a while, and we might be going to a Blues Hockey game, so that should be exciting. Tomorrow we're going back to St. Louis with Colleen and Emily to shop and such.
I think we're going to follow them back to Springfield tomorrow and go to Chicago at some point, so I'm definitely excited about that.
That's really all. It's nice to not have anything to worry about, so I can relax and enjoy my break. It's very nice.
