Writer's Block: Everything That's Fit to Print

In my opinion, print is an awesome medium. You would think that the internet would have rendered something like print obsolete. But there is something about being able to hold the medium in your hands and manipulate it, you can draw on it, and play with it, and someone cant just come along and delete whatever you added. All in the same when you come back to pick up the story you were reading the story will be the same, and in the exact same spot that you put it. There is something almost too changeable about the internet. We like to hold stuff, and play with it, and have it for our own. Enjoying it on the internet has almost caught on but not quite. Not with everyone.

Maybe its the fact that there are just too many details. Too many videos and pictures, when all you wanted was the one story to recap the entire event. Or maybe the next time you go to look at the story it has dissappeared its not on the front page anymore, it has curiously jumped to the index of the website which just so happens to be put in date order, and then alphabetically. Or maybe the internet is still just a little to "far away"

To me print news is very important, and It is something that should never die, I am sure there will be one day, where we will have a plastic sheet that picks up the broadcast that is the "news" but until that day we can take the internet, and manipulate the medium that it comes on, print news will be here. As it should be.
