In less than a month, I'll be appearing at the first-ever
SPLAT! A Graphic Novel Symposium at the New York Center for Independent Publishing. Somehow I managed to get fourth-top billing on this one, despite the fact that about a million cool and famous people will be there. According to the website, SPLAT! will:
Provide an intensive educational forum for the publishing community, educators, librarians, and people eager to find out more about the comics universe. It will also supply prospective creators with a unique opportunity to learn what it takes to be a graphic novelist.
Here are the vital details:
What: SPLAT!
Where: The NY Center for Independent Publishing, 20 West 44th St., NYC
When: Saturday, March 15, 9 AM - 7 PM
Register
here (fee includes lunch)
Read about the panels
here (There are three 'tracks' going all day long, covering just about every facet of the industry from writing auto-bio to comics in the classroom to manga in libraries to self-publishing.)
I'll be talking webcomics and promotion with my friends
R Stevens and
Dean Haspiel, and
Ted Rall! That panel's at 3:45. In addition, I'll be around pretty much all day, talking comics and having fun. Hope to see you there!
