Battle Wounds!!!

Last Monday I fell off my bike...and on to my face. I was aware that I'd probably fall off my bike some time but I didn't stop to think that I'd keep sliding once I fell down. After I landed on my face I kept going for an inch or two. I laid there in the middle of the path with sand embedded in my face and my palms touching cement. After a minute of going through a mental checklist, My body doesn't really hurt, no broken bones, no torn muscles.. I stood up.

Decked out in Team in Training Colors! Can't see them too well but our team colors are green and purple* :p

The morning after. I wasn't too jazzed about it then (as you can see) because it had been BURNING ever since I fell. I finally picked out all the sand before the photo though.

What happened? My mom and I were riding almost side by side on the Santa Monica/Venice path. As we entered the tunnel under the bridge I turned to my righ, another bicyclist behind us had caught my eye. I faced foward to tell my mom and at the same time saw the third bicyclist turning off the path before the bridge. That's when I had noticed that my mom had slowed down and I was right behind her. I yelled out, "Woah, woah!!" which turned out not to be so smart because she slowed down. The front of my bike collided with her back wheel and instead of rolling to protect my self I tried to regain control of my bike.

My mom asked me, "What happened?! I felt a tap on my back wheel." *rolls eyes*

My face healed quickly but my knees have not. The scabs on my left knee get bothersome some times and affect my flexibility. I haven't kept to my biking schedule too well but my mum and I are going to bike today no matter what. *You'll have to excuse the blurry photos. I also broke my glasses when I fell. It's kind of hard editing photos without them.
