Something that's been bothering me.
Entitlement is only a bad thing if you don't actually deserve what you are getting. To say it in response to something like healthcare, then you're damn right everyone is entitled.
As a kid, at no point did I come out of the doctor going "hot damn I deserve this!" No one wants to go to a doctor, but when you need to go you shouldn't have to die trying to pay them.
It's not like they can refuse to take us in either right... I mean, we all go anyway, we all just end up in piles of debt we don't intend to pay that inevitably keep us from moving forward in life, denying us the chance to take advantage of the "american dream".
So here is the other thing up for ridicule... education... entitlement... okay I can see it. Though, why? Logic says you're entitled if you receive something you would normally have to work for... but then the reason we get an education is to work... soooo, ultimately the problem here is that our basic k-12 doesn't offer enough or the entry wage jobs don't pay enough to survive on.
when everyone is struggling everyone becomes greedy, because we feel like we need it to survive, every tax raised on the rich just seems to make them clench their butt cheeks and raise rents and services to compensate... wait no, actually only the small businesses do that, the truly rich don't pay their taxes anyway, soooo, no effect.
Okay, so we lower taxes... okay so small business do better right? In theory... but again, no effect on the super rich though, they pay people to hide there money and not pay taxes anyway...
WHAT IF, and this is just a thought... what if we just made everyone pay their taxes equally? So we just leave the tax rates alone but make the people hiding the money basically stop hiding it. With that money we can provide healthcare so we aren't making the struggling small business' carry that weight.
Now I'm no economist here, but I do see some common sense lines. If small business can do well and the large business holds a smidgen less of the money pile they like to swim around in. Then more small business' will be able to survive and grow and provide more products which then creates a competitive market... wait, wait, you mean, capitalism? You mean that society we take so much pride in, that has been slowly stripped away so only the super large business can survive and sell us that thingy that no one else can afford to make?
Wait what about education?... well, maybe, just maybe we can all agree that everyone is an idiot? That seems to be the popular belief, even among the idiots right? What if, we managed to provide enough money to educate people? Well maybe those super rich people don't want you to be educated? Maybe they want you to follow Drumf around and hit people with sticks? Maybe they don't want you to see the giant money pools they swim around in? Why wouldn't they want people to see that? Maybe they feel shameful about it? Maybe while people are starving in the richest country in america... they have a hint of guilt about it as they take a second lap around what I like to picture as a scrooge mc'duck volt/pool?
