Major Suckitude

I haven't written here in a while but I'm feeling extremely sorry for myself so why not document it in as many places as possible?! Whee!

So, I decided to try out for roller derby. I've been practicing like whoa, and getting better every time. I met tons of awesome people and finally found a hobby I enjoy. Last Wednesday I took my new speed skates out for a spin to the Smyrna Sparkles. On about my 4th lap around, I fell and twisted my ankle until it snapped. I am now the proud owner of a fractured fibula and a bunch of torn ligaments.

I have no medical insurance and no money. Thursday I am scheduled to have a $4000 surgery to get a plate and 6-8 screws put into my leg to hold all my junk together. I have no clue how I'm going to pay for it and I only have a couple days to figure it out. I can't stop crying. I fall every time I try to use my crutches. And I'm sure my left leg smells disgusting. It's going to be close to 3 months before I can even put any weight on my left foot. As it is now, I'm going to work with a broken-ass ankle. Getting up even one step on crutches takes a ton of planning. I haven't practiced my jumping on one foot skillz in oh, 15 years at least, so this is really tough. I've found blogs by people with the same injury, and they only make me feel worse. And I never thought I'd say this, but I am sick to death of taking pain pills!

So...yeah. Pity party over at the Gootee house and you're invited. Bring cake and weed, plz.
