God is good ALL the time....
So yesterday I ran into a little snag...I guess you call it that. Ever have one of those days where Satan or someone else brings up things that are in your past that were hurtful? Yeah, well...he definitely got the best of me yesterday. He knows he can get me that way..and boy did he! I even woke up this morning feeling sick of what my past holds. Then I went to church. Isn't it amazing that if you ask God to search and try your heart and reveal things to you, that He will? Every single aspect of our service today was centered around grace, mercy, forgiveness, God's love, and moving past the past. I can definitely say that God is good...and not just sometimes, or every now in then...but ALL the time.
This may not have any impact on anyone else, but for some reason for me it hit directly home. David wrote in Psalm 92:10--But my horn shalt thou exalt like a horn of an unicorn: I shall be anointed with fresh oil. He was talking in this chapter about giving thanks to God for who He is. He says in verse one that it is a good thing to give praise to God, and then in verse 2 he explains why--because God shows his lovingkindess for us in the morning, and His faithfulness in the evening. He then goes on in verse 10 to say that his horn shalt be exalted and he will be anointed with fresh oil--not old oil, or just regular oil, or even left over oil--FRESH oil.
I honestly believe that if we let Him, God will anoint us with His fresh oil daily. Even when our past gets thrown into our faces and Satan tries to fill our head with lies...Gods anointing oil can sweep in and overcome any lie.
