I am out of envelopes. Which means a job must be coming my way soon.
...okay, if you don't get that, here's the story:
For the past several months, I have been sending out resumes and resume DVDs. HUNDREDS. That's not an exaggeration either.
Anyway, a few weeks ago, I bought some more envelopes with which to send my resumes and resume DVDs. I bought 45. As I was standing in the check-out line, I thought about how much money I have been spending on DVDs and DVD cases and postage and envelopes. At that point, I decided that I would have a job by the time I used my last envelope, so I would not have to spend any more money on this stupid job hunt...until I decide I want to move up into a bigger market or into a better job, which will not happen for a little while yet.
Well, I used my last envelope today. I will be mailing it out this afternoon. By the time it is mailed, I have decided I will be hired for my first television job.
"Impossible!" you think. Not actually. In fact, I have not one, not two, but THREE job leads at the moment. I am supposed to find out about the one either today or tomorrow...the other wants to bring me in for an interview within the next couple weeks, but a few things need to be determined before then...and the last sort of depends on how the other two go.
So, I am out of envelopes, which means someone is going to hire me soon.
