Brad and I watched this documentary entitled 'the gleaners' yesterday. we were going to get disney's pocahantas, to put us in the mood for tonight's 'the new world' but the video store didn't have it.

The result was a weird travelogue quasi-documentary about poor people gleaning for vegetables in rural France, which is fine, but it also dealt with the filmmakers own gleaning (of images), which is lame. For instance, you watch for a minute what is called the 'the cap dance' where the lense cap on the video camera hangs like a pendulum in the video cameras field of vision. And you just sit watching it swing back and forth and back and forth, and it's all quite awful.

It's like someone gave her 5,000 bucks and said 'go make a movie...eeeeeeeee'
