I've been going through this phase lately where I just want to sell off all the crap I own. It all started the last time I went to Ikea to get something small, just one item that I needed for a specific purpose, and I saw these people walking around with their huge carts full of kitchen supplies, rugs, plant pots and wall hangings, and I looked down at the single item in my hand and thought 'I don't need any of this other stuff, because my space consists of a 12'x12' rented room and a travel trailer'. And it was kind of a liberating feeling, even though stuff is nice, and I do miss having an apartment that felt like my own place (if you've seen my house, you know that it definitely has its own vision and style, which I enjoy but did not have any role in creating and am not permitted to change). I just feel like we've become prisoners to stuff, and the hunger to eliminate empty space in our houses and apartments is driving us out to Ikea or Dania or Costco every weekend to spend our hard earned dollars on things that we don't need.

So here's the problem - I am so busy earning money (to buy more stuff, as it were), that I don't have the time to a) take pictures of things b) post them on craigslist c) wait for people to show up to cart off my $15 aquarium. Wouldn't it be great if there were a business that just sold people's crap for them? Like sellallmystuff.com or getridofmycrap.com. I know people do this for ebay auctions all the time but what about just stuff lying around that you want to sell that is too big or a hassle to ship? If I were unemployed I would totally offer that service to people for some extra bucks.
