I am a night owl ...

Looking in to say 'Who!  Who!'  And July 5 there will be a Doctor Who marathon.

I wanted to solicit input from my FL.  I can retire from my job in August, but will need more income.  I am finding that I really, really want to have summers off.  I have a 9 year old boy and don't - for various reasons - want to use day care for him in the summers.  Also, my blown knee is reminding me that I am getting older, and if I want to have adventures other than sitting in a cubicle, well, now is the time.

So, any input?  The only profession I can think of that is seasonal like that - that pays me enough to live on, with my retirement - is teaching, school librarian, computer support at a school.  Any other suggestions?  I'm really not sure that I am up to being a classroom teacher.  Remember I am a cubicle person.  I'm not used to being 'on' and focused all of the time.

I have degrees in math, computer science - but I am a dinosaur.  I am a mainframer; most schools use PC's - networks.  I also have  a minor in Biology.  Part of me would like to teach gifted students - more hands on things.

Suggestions for 9 - 10 month work that is decently paid and makes a difference?
