I'm not the next Michael Phelps.

But I have been working hard at this swimming thing. I went 3 times last week, and plan on going 4 or 5 times this week. I really do enjoy my gym a lot. Sometimes I get a little bored swimming with nothing else to do. I wish I had an underwater iPod or something. :-)

However, I guess there is something to be said about this whole "working out" thing. I stepped on the scale last night and was surprised to see that I had lost 4 lbs. since last week. I've been eating really really well too. Like last night, I made "chicken" salad out of soy chicken, low fat mayo, onion and red bell pepper, wrapped in a whole wheat tortilla. With a side of homemade, low butter mashed taters.

My bestest friend Erica has been an inspiration to me. She has worked her lil booty off, literally. When she told me how much she's lost total since two years ago, not only was I shocked, but sooooo proud. And she does it all through being healthy. I have to say, I feel so much healthier and energized now that I've been swimming. I'm a little sore and it makes it a struggle to wake up in the mornings, but during the day I feel better. And even though I smell like chlorine like whoa even after I shower, the fact that in a week I've made a noticeable drop, makes me want to keep trying. Maybe I'll get back to my high school size. Wouldn't that be cool? :-)

Here's hopin'.
