So summer brings me back to this place spewing words of un-wisdom across the net. so it goes! Sorry these are usually more for me than anybody else, maybe i'll have a hero of the week or something to try to ammend that slightly?
And as always instead of new years I have summer goals, this year, more specific in hopes they'll not succumb to lazyness:
as usual:
Paint More
-hopefully starting with a painting for kristin! and others maybe..
TV less: not a problem at school, but one at home. I'm going to cut it down to 4 times a week and then go from there...
-rent movies (an easy goal!)
-find obscure movies i want (a harder goal)
-spend as little money as possible!!!! keep my eye on the goal (ITALY!)
to do this, -barter as much as possible and get freebees
-volunteer more (i never volunteer, and this makes me sad)anybody want to be a soup kitchen buddy? (or any other kind, habitat? I'll drive if you come to my house or someplace on the way
which brings me to
carpool more, without being an inconvience (tricky?)
-get my ass in gear for getting my visa (last obstacle besides money to italy)
-eat vegetarian as much as possible (easier at school than home!)
cook as much as possible (these will go hand in hand) i asked my parents if i could cook once a week. friends would be welcome b/c i realize that would be funny, even if it would be awkward because my parents aren't used to the friends at our house thing.
-try new things
-sew (there's a t-shirt revamping book that i wanna get, but this goes against spending money, but maybe this will limit me buying more? hmm) stitch & bitch, anyone?
-eat better
phase one: no more candy excluding chocolate. chocolate only 5 times a week or less (sounds easy but is hard for me!) this means more fruit i guess...
-stay involved with amnesty stuff, plans for next year, action taking online...
-make an effort to hangout with friends more, last summer before graduation guys!
-learn as much italian before july as possible
-be more respectful to my parents while trying to establish as much independance as possible (impossible goal?)
-ride my bike or walk everyday
-read more
I'm excited about this summer. Even though I'm still in my parents house which can drag me down and I have to work at a corporation that i equate with the plague of erie (at least it's not walmart), it's all worth it when i think of how i will be in florence in july. In June I turn 21. the week after i get back from italy my parents will be gone for a week (party at patty's!). this summer already has so much more to look forward to than usual. It's so hard to believe this is my last summer before the real world. Let's make the most of it!
