Faith in Success

Nov 08, 2006 21:45

(This post is officially a work in progress. I'm looking now into making all of my posts into real stuff that isn't just completely off the top of my head, but writing that I've bothered to develop into an essay I'd be willing to share, or perhaps even convert into a speech. So, until I add something about this being a finished post, consider it just a draft.)

The quote goes something like this: "I could outdo him at mapmaking, tactics, just about everything - but the one thing he bested me at, the one thing he bested the world at, was his complete faith in success." William Tecumseh Sherman, a Union General during the Civil War, said this about his friend, General Ulysses S. Grant. (To be finished later)
