Day 08 - A song that you know all the words to

M2M - The Day You Went AwayThere are so many songs I know all the words to, but since my last entry I've been in a nostalgic mood so, a song from my teenage years! I know all the words to this one and even know how to sing the harmony. The best thing about this obsession is that due to M2M's moderate ( Read more... )

M2M!! *high five* I was SO obsessed with them. I got my hair cut like the blonde one in 8th grade. XD None of my friends knew who they were though, and I just obsessed on my own, so it makes me immeasurably happy that you know who they are and used to love them too. Oh, the good old days of sugary sweet pop music.

Give me some fivsies!

You're definitely not alone, a lot of boys liked them back at school. XD They were relatively popular here (they even sang "Pretty Boy" in Chinese) and still remind me so much of my school days.

I had a hard time deciding whether this should be for the "guilty pleasure" day, but hey, I am totally shameless about this love! I'd make an M2M icon if I find a decent pic. :D

Ahahaha, that's awesome! They weren't very well known here, I don't think. They did sing a song in one of the Pokemon movies if I'm remembering correctly, so they'd play that song on television, but after that faded away, I don't think anyone really remembered them. Which is a shame really, because that was some decent pop music! When I purged a lot of my old CDs a little while ago, theirs were two of the few I kept. And I put them on my iPod too. XD And they're still there. I might have to bust it out and give them a listen now. "Mirror, mirror hangin' on the wall..." heee. So I suppose I'm totally shamless in my love for them too.

If you make an icon, that would be EPIC. I would probably have to snag it too...

I just looked them up on wikipedia, and you're absolutely correct. Their first single for Pokemon broke into many charts worldwide, but the follow-up songs made #1 in places in Asia. That's why I remember them being popular here! We probably have a thing for Norwegian singers. :D I think both girls now have solo careers, and Marit (the blonde) is actually folk/acoustic singer-songwriter now, so I might check out her music!

I decided to keep Shades of Purple after cleaning, too. It's in such a bad condition because I listened to it so much.

Edited to change my icon. There aren't a lot of M2M pictures online, I found a decent one but it's from The Big Room era. I'd prefer the cutesy Shades of Purple days, completed with a Pikachu. XD
