It looked like Allen was able to avoid his throw, though instead of beating himself up over it, Leo simply backed up a couple of steps and frowned deeply to himself. Physical activity made his headache worse, but class was class, and he had to do his best no matter what the circumstances.

Besides, if he outwardly showed how he was feeling, Raph would realize that something was wrong. Looking at his brother, Leo could see that Raph was already glancing at him with veiled worry at every opportunity. Once he realized that Raph already knew that something was wrong, Leo masked his own ailments to focus on the game. He couldn't just forfeit the match and school simply because he wasn't feeling well.

All of this only took a few seconds, and once Leo paid attention, he had to dodge the ball coming towards him yet again. Normally, he would've seen that coming as soon as it left Allen's hands, but...

He returned her slight grin with a little smile of his own as he raced to two of the dodgeballs and threw them towards her as soon as he felt the soft foam in his hands. The throws lacked the force that he used before, but this was mostly due to Allen being a friend than his illness.

Two of them?! Not as forceful but, still. It was rather easy for her to dodge them, using the skills she managed to keep sharp during the summer. Not that it really showed considering her current state but that was beside the point.

Considering Leo's grin, she felt like she'd found the one that she needed to face off against. She was a little hesitant considering the fact that he was clearly not up to snuff but if he was willing to play, so was she. Taking the two balls that she managed to find, she threw them with just enough force to let them fly easily without bouncing around. It was more a test to see how he reacted than to actually tag him out. Observe first and then work on the objective.

This time, Leo dodged the two balls thrown at him easily, simply taking a step to the side for each throw. Still, he watched every move Allen made: Know your opponent, that was what his master had said to him many times. Back in the days before Avoria, to him, every "game" was training, but here and now... this was really a game. He had a feeling that his brothers would be proud.

He grabbed another ball and took a second to work out everything - How she moved before, how she may move again, the speed that the balls were thrown at both lazy and forceful throws - before he threw it with more force this time, not even bothering to wipe the slight smile off of his face.

Well, that one nearly got her. She leaped upwards and landed about as gracefully as a winged cow on a fencepost, much to her dismay. Sighing at the way everything in her body felt shaken from that impact alone, she found another ball and tossed it in the air.

If this had been a game of volleyball, at least it would've been a good serve but, as it was, it was a restrained whack that she gave to the ball. Observing time was over and she knew Leo would be a difficult opponent to knock out. Not that she was going to back out of this challenge anytime soon.

During the time that Allen took to recover from her leap, Leo had his attention taken away by players that were left who thought it'd be nice to try and tag him out of the game. It was easy enough to dodge them, though it did wonders for his health. He fought down the need to cough violently at the end of the assault, and when he looked up, he managed to avoid the ball thrown by Allen just in time.

This was ridiculous... He felt weak right now. Game or not, this was incredibly frustrating. Almost without realizing it, he grabbed the ball nearest him and threw it with much force in Allen's direction, though the silent "shit, I screwed up" written all over his face immediately after made it known that he didn't mean to do so.

Even when she'd had to land she couldn't rest, a few of the others deciding to try and knock her out while she tried to recover. She frowned as she looked at them, muttering something under her breath about "opportunists" before she turned her attention back to Leo.

Unfortunately, it was a little too late to even do that. All she managed to see was a ball hurtling toward her at a speed she couldn't even begin to hope to dodge. Though she, quite frankly, took the sharp hit on her side "like a man", she couldn't hide the wince from the contact.

Her skin now burning from the assault, she sighed as she heard the whistle and saw Mr. Jones calling her out. Allen gave Leo a grin and a little wave to show that she'd had fun despite the way she was tagged out. Granted, it was fun but that was most definitely going to ache for a few days.
