first week back
I started back to work this week- thankfully it was a short week because they were some of the longest days ever! My class of kinders is super- really respectful, helpful, insert lots of positive adjectives....This was all overshadowed by the fact that Boy had a miserable few days- nipple confusion galore, not sleeping, crying for long periods of the day wiyth not enough hands to hold and comfort him. I am really reconsidering this childcare arrangement- 8 babies is too about five too many......I am hopeful that topher's optimism will prevail and that he just needs more time. UGGHHH.....
We have been out of touch with topher's aunt K for over a year now due to the fact that topher's mom and aunt K are not speaking. i just couldn't handle the family drama this summer and so i didn't get in touch with them. i just found out that their best friend's 18 yr.old daughter (who i've met many times) was killed this summer in a horrible car accident. her car was struck my a calvert county sherriff who was travelling over 100 mph in a 45 mph zone. the details are gruesome. i can only imagine the grief and emotions this has summoned for aunt K and her children who lost their son 11 years ago. i am a bit down, and feeling guilty for letting family BS prevent me from contacting them this summer. we were there in md. when this happened, and i had overwhelming urges to call her right around the time of the accident, but never called.....
in brighter news, we enjoyed a nice meal with our german neighbors and a dear friend. I cooked pretty traditional dishes and they all turned out scrumptiously. i am typing with one hand as i am holding baby boy-hence all lowercase.
off to bed with a belly full of pie!
