Strange days these are. Word has it the Hellmouth doesn't have a slayer. Sunnydale is like party central. Cept it's different this time. Can't put a finger on it. Usually there would be a bunch of demons from out of town seein what kinda trouble they could stir up, slayer not being around. Yeah there would be a couple human casualties, but this place never really became the ghost town that it seems to be now. The human customers are down, the demon customers are up. Not that I care, business is boomin either way. Still it doesn't bode well. I've noticed a the numbers in the crews are slowly depletin. Kinda pisses me off.
Paige's odd behavior is gettin more noticeable. Whatever she's up to she better watch out. Seen the types of guys she's been chattin up are no good. Then last night she gave me an envelope, sayin if she for some reason doesn't show up for work it has instructions for what I should do. She also asked me not to tell any new people comin in what her actual day job is. Which I haven't, but she's foolish to think that whatevers goin on doesn't involve regulars, people she already told she was Army. In fact, I was talkin to Max, a guy who is in Joey's crew. And he was watchin her chattin up some new guys and Max made some off handed comment, wonder if they know she was Army. i mistakenly told him not was, is. It was Max, trusted foot soldier in Joeys crew. Why should i be worried about an off handed remark.
Gut feelin is I should be. Been watchin him like a hawk. Told Sammy and Frank to do the same. Would have asked Joey, but if Max's loyalty is in question, I ain't gonna chance whether Joeys is too. Really not likin that I can't fuckin trust my own people. What ever this shit is thats going round, its messin with my organization. Worked damn hard to get this set up. No ones gonna come in here and take it away. I set Frank into gettin the low down on what the fuck is going on.
Haven't seen India in a couple weeks. We were set to hook up, and she called to cancel. Said her sister had come home. Don't really know what the story is there, why that would change the fun we were havin. Most likely, she left town like the rest of 'em. Too bad. She was a good time. Hope she's okay though, wouldn't want anything bad to happen to the girl.
