On page 11 of the article I read the words, “’Details of crime‘ must never be shown and care should be exercised at all times in discussing such details.” I disagree with this statement because I believe that in any heist movie or gangster film this is essential and not all that harmful to the public it draws. If you’re going to go rob a bank, the movies probably aren’t going to influence your choice too much. Think about it like this, you are a Catholic that plans on being celibate until marriage and you watch a movie that’s about a satanic girl and her life. Do you really think you’re going to turn satanic? I am a Catholic girl and I just think it’s free will what you do with your mind and they shouldn’t censor anything so that you can’t have your own thoughts no matter how bad they really could be. We should have more faith in the community because who really wants to be judged like that? I personally do not and I don’t think it’s all that fair that the government has the right to do that. If I sit down and watch a movie like Oceans Eleven or Matchstick Men I am in no way persuaded to want to go out and rob a bank. If I was the type of person to rob a bank, I’d do it with or without the influence of a movie. All in all, the details of a crime aren’t going to persuade me to commit one and in that the details of one are simply too important to the plot line to be censored.
