thinking about VT

I can't help but continuously think about what happened at Virginia Tech.  I am not trying to gain sympathy, for there are far more who are worse off than I am.
In fact, I am eternally grateful that Catonsville got off as lucky as we did. We had one person who was involved, and as of now he is recovering in a hospital, and he will pull through. I am glad because even though I have only hung out with Justin a few times, Randy is a good friend, and seeing his struggle with the simple fact that his friend has been shot is not something I would want to see increased.

The media is infuriating me. The stations make it seem like a movie, with big graphics and dramatic music. They make it sensational, and I am already well aware of the affect that this is having on our country.
I know there are a lot of people who find the facebook profile pictures stupid. I don't think so though. Maybe some people changed theirs to be part of a crowd and a trend, but I don't think everyone did it for this reason.

I changed mine, and I did so to show those affected more directly than me that I am supportive of them in this time, and that they are in our thoughts and prayers. There have been times in my life when knowing that someone is praying for me or family has made an unmeasurable difference.

There is no way to say how a person is affected by something like this. It is a tragedy, and you cannot claim that certain people have more right to feel sad than others.

Stay strong VT.
