I have a new appreciation for mothers. My mom is working today, and we were going to have Easter dinner tomorrow. But it seemed wrong to have Easter dinner the day after Easter. So I volunteered to make dinner. Big mistake. I ended up making a 4 course dinner:
1. Ham
2. Mashed Potatoes
3. Corn
4. Apple Crumble Pi (no e)
Granted, Corn and 'tatoes don't take that much effort, but it still takes some. I thought the recipe for the Apple Crumble Pi was something like Apple Crisp, I didn't catch the Pi part. I was thinking I'd make the batter and then throw in in the oven and cook it. But then I realized it was a pi. And I had to make a pi crust for it. No big deal we have one in the freezer. Only to find out, that it was a lump of dough, which would take a few hours to thaw, and nuking ruins it. (I think no recipe should exist that cannot be frozen and nuked). So I had to make the dough. 'Cept I'd never made Pi dough before, and it's not a simple one where you mix all the ingredients together and stir. No this is one where you add half the flour, and cut it with half the solution while mixing water flour and salt in another bowl, combining the two after a certain consistency is achieved. Still haven't tasted the Pi almost three hours later. So Stuffed.
