In other news, I love women - and not even in a lustful way. I think they are the most enchanting beings to ever walk the earth. I love to hear them laugh, watch them smile and talk, and enjoy life, especially if I have a part to play in making the mirth they feel. I walk down the street sometimes and if a girl deigns to glance my way and to pass me a smile, I fall in love for a split second - then she continues down the sidewalk and for a moment the nettles of daily life slough off my mind. They are gracious enough to tell we men when we are wrong, offer us insight and perspective where we lack it, and spur us on to do great things, all in the hope that we might be worthy of their appreciation someday. Or at least that is how I feel.
They frequently rob me of my tongue. They stupefy me with their charms like so many magickal spells, and remind me of all in this world I find beautiful.
Women are like music - some supple, others jagged, some quiet and elusive, some declaring their individuality like it were a law of the land. They have moods and make choices, and we men, the musicians, may try to interpret and explain them with our instruments; and yet we shall never quite realize what they are despite our diligence. We can only listen and find that they make us happy, and trust that showing our happiness will be enough to make them happy, too.
So I say this in honor of women, the songs that lend a spark to my thoughts. May you always kindle such fires as these.
