Dear Megan:
Thank you so much for your audition for the department. We have appreciated your work in class and on crew during the fall semester. Your growth was evident in your audition. We regret, however, that we are not able to add you as a major. We feel we would not be able to fulfill the commitment we would be making to you with regard to mentoring, training, casting, etc.
We recognize this is a profound disappointment. We admire your spirit and your talents. As we agreed last semester, we wanted to make the decision during this first week to allow you to make any changes you need while you could still receive the 100% refund.
Thank you for your commitment and dedication through the fall. We wish we were able to accept everyone who would like to claim a theatre major. We know, however, that our resources and opportunities are limited. Of course you have the opportunity to minor in theatre. We continue to pray for God's blessings on your life. If you need to visit with any of the staff, we would be happy to do that. You have been mailed a hard copy of this letter as well.
Yours sincerely,
Adam Hester
Chairman, Department of Theatre
