Elsa and her bunch of friends used to play in the lawns of the
adjacent community. Due to some dog owner’s fault (don’t know the exact details), we can no longer leave them off leash there. It was a good playground for them and it was also good for their paws - it was grass.
Since then, we have been taking our dogs to this fenced in children’s park in the adjacent
Church grounds. The place is not as big as the lawns they were used to and it is also difficult on their paws to run here since it is all covered in mulch. Elsa does make efforts once in a while.
The place has a toy train, a play set with swings etc and a slide. Initially she was pretty afraid of these and never used to climb any of them. Now she does. She likes to climb up on the play set and look around for squirrels. Sometimes, I am also up there (that is how I got her used to the play set) and she doesn’t like me crossing the shaky wooden bridge.
This play area has become a place for her daily runs. On occasions we go down to the trail, a little further down the road.
