Rip It Up! is tonight at The Space!  The first 50 people through the door get a free CD.  Its this great Universal Comp called “Rock On”, with bands like Le Tigre, Razorlight, and the Kaiser Chiefs.  Also enhanced with several cool music videos - it’s a great listen!

So be sure to come out, have some coffee, and dance to some indie yumminess.

This night is a must if you like Morrissey, The Smiths, Interpol, Franz Ferdinand, the Postal Service, the Cure, the Jam, Joy Division, the Faint, the Libertines, MIA, the Killers and any other left of the dial bands that you all know and love.  Doors open at 7pm, and the cover charge is $8.  So come out and have a great time!! Check out www.thespace.tk for directions.

May 21st is the next Shag Frenzy, and we will be having a huge Sleater-Kinney/Sub Pop promotion.  Plus Guest Deejays - Connie Lingus from NYC punk band S.M.U.T., and DJ IN SENSE (aka Beeper) from CCSU’s  WFCS 107.7.  It is going to be an awesome time, so get there early for all the free stuff (plus, you know you wanna hear the new Sleater_Kinney album “The Woods”!!

Save the date - June 22nd is the next Collage event at the Wadsworth Atheneum.  From 6-9pm, the lovely city of Hartford is bursting at the seams with young people out for a good time (seriously, we are talking 800 or so people in the museum - its awesome).  The Shag Frenzy crew will get your body on the dancefloor with our indielicious grooves, so don’t hang the DJ!  I will have more details at a later date, but last time advance tickets were a mere $10, with tons of free martinis, Bud select, Bacardi malt beverages, popcorn, and candy cigarettes included.  Umm yes, I did say free.  Come out and have a good time, and then walk over to one of the awesome area restaurants to sober up for the drive home - my personal recommendations are The Red Plate, Vaughan’s Public House, and Trumbull Kitchen.

Also, we will be laying down a set of lounge yumminess this weekend at the Lyman Allyn Art Museum’s Red Lantern Gala.  Tickets are $125 per person, which includes a lavish Asian influenced meal and a chocolate fountain for dessert.  A silent auction will also be held to benefit the museum.  Tables and Corporate Tables are also available.

Don't forget to add us on myspace - www.myspace/shagfrenzy
