Musings of a tired mind
How is it that one can be surrounded by friends and still feel lonely? Chatting and having a good time yet it seems so superficial. The people who are truly enjoyable to spend time with for their intellect, insight, and opinions seem the furthest away.
Ah well, maybe it is just lack of sleep or lack of distractions. Too much time to think about how much has been left behind and realizing that while everything is great for now it is not exactly where the road will finally take you. Fearing the unknown future is okay as long as it does not inhibit from pressing forward in life's great journey. Settling for what is comfortable is okay as long as there are no regrets about what could have been.
