Why am I still up?

Mar 02, 2006 23:30

I really should be in bed, but I stole Amy's computer long enough to try and catch up on everyone's journals. I'm woefully far behind.

In response to Sarah's entry on Feb. 24... she asked what we want. So I thought, hey something easy to write when I should be sleeping instead!

What do I want, Sarah?
Many of the same things you want, I think.

To be truer and braver in faith. To listen and risk more. To find my path by standing up, walking, and exploring, and trusting Jesus to catch me if I fall, instead of sitting on my arse and waiting for the answer to drift into my lap.

To not be alone... to keep my friends for longer than a few years (as I've kept my family, thank God.) To eventually settle down with a good husband and a small, intimate circle of friends. To raise children.

To live joyfully, hopefully, prayerfully, persisting in overcoming challenges. To grow more capable of supporting others and more willing to be supported in return.

To use my talents for God's glory, the benefit of others, and my own happiness and fulfillment.

To drink in the sunsets, and soak up the starlight, and sing my heart out. To write the merest shadow or reflection of the beauty I see in God's world and people, and to teach others how to find and believe in that beauty with their own hearts.

To die with no fear, but great longing and humility.

Too much to ask?

Okay, reader. Your turn! Sarah thieved from Dawn (so she says,) and I thieved from Sarah, so by all means, keep the chain going. What do YOU want?

Hmmm, should I give you some newsie news, in brief?
Red Cross stuff is going well. Big event on Saturday; wish us luck.
Junior Theatre is going well, too, and it's more fun to boot.
I like to sing in church. La la laaaaa.
I was sick on Tuesday; all better now.
This house is gosh-dern QUIET with everyone except me on spring break. Just me and the sqirrels. So I've raided a few of Steph's movies and sung in the shower, just to make noise. (And speaking of Steph's movies, I've had quite enough of Julia Roberts. Really, though, with that smile, HOW does she avoid cracking her face in half??)
And (drum roll please)... (come on, I don't hear a drum roll)... (much better, thanks)... Theresa is coming to visit TOMORROW!! LA LA LAAAAAAA!!!!
The end.
