Will is an Old One. The closest definition we get of this in his canon is 'not quite human.' Will is recognisable to other Old Ones, agents of the Dark and the avatars of Wild Magic. Molly should register as Wild, with a lingering aftertaste of Dark. Dresdenverse wizards have latent power lingering in them that you can literally feel when you make skin-to-skin contact with them. This is also what blows up all the technology around them. It's neutral--in a way, it's just the energy of the universe, channeled through them, for them to use and misuse. They can draw from the natural sources around them, but it's even easier to fuel a spell with emotion (the difference is between sapping the solar heat from a lake that's been in the sun all day to fuel a fire spell, and having a sex vampire lock lips with you to pump up a shield spell XD). Old magic is geomancy in canon, and while Harry knows a few good tricks with it, I don't think he would've taught it to Molly at this point--Harry's got more magical "muscle" and even he gets tired out by it fairly quickly.
The dark is because about a year/year and a half ago Molly literally practiced dark magic; she performed a mind control spell on a couple people, unconsciously tapping some anger during the casting, and ended up burning some nasty holes in their psyches. Such spells leave a mark on the caster, though it didn't hurt her in as obvious a way as it hurt the people on the receiving end; one of them went insane and isn't going to get any better. The other is heavily implied to be likely to suffer similar problems down the road.
