You were right in thinking these prompts worked well together - the setting of the storm was exactly right for Will's confession(s).

There's so many little things I enjoyed here from his blatant appraisal of her caught in the rain to her slightly scared, stunned reaction to his words... everything felt like them. Where they could go from their current state in canon.

"More than anything, though, I want you to be happy. So...” he squeezed her hand, trailing his thumb back and forth across it soothingly.
*Sigh* So lovely and very fitting of Will. Above all he wants what's best for her and the physical gesture of his fingers subtly underscores all the sentiment in his words. Also, I adore that you said he made the mistake staying silent at Georgetown - for some reason (especially in context of him wanting her to be happy) I can easily see that happening.

Hey! Can't remember if I replied to this earlier today or not, so - either way - thanks for the kind words! Glad you enjoyed it. :) I really don't ship these two, but I enjoy different elements of all 3 of the main ships on the series: A/P, A/W and A/K. My biggest frustration has always been the lack of deep conversations like these within any of the "pairs". I guess if they spent less time showcasing guest stars, they'd have more time to go deeper between our core characters, but that seems left to the realm of fanfic instead. :)

I'm not exactly a shipper either, but I really loved their easy banter. If they were written like that maybe I COULD get behind this :) Thanks for sharing.

This is really sweet, Jodes! I so love both Will and Alicia and desperately want them to be happy, so this fic warmed my heart. This part:

“Just this once, Alicia, I have to do what is right for me” Will said as he tapped his chest.

...I think is particularly important. Will is such a fool for Alicia, he just lets her run the whole show of her relationship. Not that I think he should push her when she's not ready for it, but when he doesn't fight for her at all, he always loses out! So I'm glad you gave him some balls here. :) Nice job! So glad you fic'd.

So I deleted my previous reply because it showed up as anonymous again. Grr!

I forgot for a minute that you were ever a fan of this ship instead of just A/K! But then I remembered you wrote for the A/W ship first-tho it seems so long ago! Anywho it matters not because I am the same. You have your pet OTP in A/K and I still root for the sinking A/P ship, but we can all still want A and W to be happy in the end too! I like them all!

So yay! Glad you liked it! :) Since completing this story, I discovered a different song whose lyrics are even more appropriate, so maybe I'll hafta edit it. The essence of the story would be the same still. I agree Will just needed to get that off his chest. I felt better FOR him anyway! ;)
