We need characters sprinkled around like this more often.
I know what you mean about an ep that gets just the right things just right enough, so that the flaws are more easily forgivable. There are a lot of Buffy eps I feel that way about too. I can actually think of a number of SV eps that could fall intro this category too. 'Luthor's' biggest USP, apart from its standout performances is its pace and tone - the ep never stops being exciting, and sometimes that's what one's looking for.
I've stopped trying to figure out this season. I'm in such a bizarre place with it, I have no idea what to think anymore.
