Hey, don't be putting negative Nancy's down! I'm one all the time. LOL
Like you, I've very Meh over this season. Part of me was hoping against hope that the showrunners/writers would finally pull it together, and write a great season for Clark. But a bigger part of me is getting pretty much what I expected. Lots of stalling, lots of Clark's storyline being focused on his romantic life.
Like you, I found the blue K plot very badly plotted. If Clark just needed to have a bit of distance between him and thw townspeople, why didn't he have his powers in the house, when none of them were near him?
Like you, I had big problems with Lois giving Clark the speech about stepping into the light. More then that, I objected to the fact that Clark doesn't really articulate his POV back, or mention that he did step into the light once, or...well, say much of anything. Writing like that is just BAD writing for Clark, as far as I'm concerned. But I also don't expect it to go anywhere, anytime soon.
The Clois love scene was very tepid for me. And candles? Do Clark or Lois strike anyone as candle people?
Overall, this episode just didn't work for me. S10 has gotten off to a pretty unfortunate start in my book.

Y'know, I watched this again (I know!) with Ray' nephew Sunday afternoon when he was over and ugh, I flat out hated it this time. Usually eps can get better on second viewing but this one got worse.

It's pretty ridiculous at this point. If I didn't know, honestly, I would never peg this down as The Final season.

Yes. And this is the really sad part.

I get the kind of emotion they were trying to go for, but it really was uninspiring, and particularly so because of the candles.
