OK, I'm back for a more comprehensive comment. Though it was awfully nice to just want to Squeeeee!!!
One of the great things about this ep was its use of the guest characters. They were cameos, relevant to the story, respectful of the main character and all the while doing themselves justce too. This is why I loved that WT scene so very much. It was actually great to see these characters have differing POV' on the matter - that felt natural to me, and it was nice touch to add in there. Of course they wouldn't all agree, these are individuals not just bringing their own unique powers to the table but also their own unique perspectives. It's how they come to resolve those differences and formulate a plan to act together is what makes them great. I loved that they realized the importance of working together and being strong as a team, and again, perhaps to some it may come off as OTT that they reciprocated Clark' "it was my honor" moment, but I loved it, unabashadly so.
I agree with this so much! I've seen people say that their appearances were a waste, but I couldn't disagree more. The beauty of their cameos was that they really were here to serve Clark's storyline. It was so important to see Clark stepping up in that moment. He isn't in a leadership role with the JLA because he bosses others around, and tells them where to go or what to do. He's in a leadership role because he inspires them. I absolutely love that!
And is it any surprise that the others bicker and don't listen to each other? There really isn't much of a common bond between all of them. CLARK is the one that can bring them together, because they all have reasons to be loyal to Clark. And thats precisely what this show has been getting so wrong in the past, but got so right in this episode.
The fight scene in the rain is really going to go down, for me, as one of SV's best sequences ever. It was just beautiful, and so well staged and performed. God, Tom and Callum did such a terrific job!
The one place we do differ is CB overall. I just could never get on board with his performance. But, he was very effective in this ep, and his character had a satisfying storyline arc. So, its all good!

Heh, I know. I missed that this season.

Right?! ::love::
And y'know, and I've already briefly touched on this in the review, but the beauty of this scene is truly that it works whether you're an SV!Clark fan, a comics!JL fan or indeed both, such as myself. Because it portrays a pretty accurate picture of what it can and does often look like - these individuals don't always share the same kind of perspectives, and there are duelling POV' at times. And many times it is indeed Supes who steps in and sort of hears the whole thing out. I loved it.

ICAM. It was almost cinematic in quality and tone, much like the other great rain sequence this season has produced from 'Rabid.' And come to think of it, SV often does well with rain sequences, heh.
I can completely see where CB might not have worked quite as well for you as he did for me. I think part of the reason I was able to get on board was primarily because I appreciate his chemistry with CF and TW, the two actors he shared most scenes with. And secondly because I at the back of my mind, he neved was The General Zod. This was very much an in-training Major, version of himself, affected to a great deal moreover by circumstances outside his control - and what we got was his brief journey in to showing us what path a person in his position might adopt.
Wow, did I actually just praise the show's development of a one season villain??! Check me in, clearly I've gone bonkers, heh. I do wish I had a cool Zod icon though---::hint:: ;-)
Oh, and also? In comparison to the Epic Fail that was Davis last season, I think Zod was a welcome relief anyway, heh.
