//And Martha's treatment of Tess actually made even more sense to me when we found out that Tess really did have the Book of Rao. I mean ... she stole that thing *from the Kents' house*. It doesn't belong to her, it wasn't meant for her, and, quite frankly, she probably has no flippin' idea how to use it without making a giant mess (glowing alien disco ball from S8, anyone?). But she took it and was hiding it from Clark when it's arguably the one thing that can help him defeat Zod? And yet, she's gone on and on in the past about just wishing Clark could trust her? Yeah, with friends/allies like that ...

I may not approve of Martha's method as the RQ, but her rationale makes sense to me, because Clark having allies like Tess is likely to lead to people getting killed.//

I absolutely agree that Martha' reasoning for adopting the RQ persona and getting incolved in the whole thing - felt very real, believable and organic to me. And agreed on Tess too. When I said she's having a tough time of late though, I meant more that she hasn't really had a solid victory in a while now. It's just been one crazy decision sfter the other and cause-effect thereafter. And every good villain, ultimately needs atleast a few triumphs, IMO.
