Ah, wading through this review is like taking a hot bath in my own thoughts.
And how's that for a visual?
Just, pretty much, yes to everything.
Though, I'll disagree with you on one thing. I didn't think Lois made a lot of sense in the future with her reactions to Clark. Yes, we know she's in love with him, but when she zapped out, she wasn't remotely convinced he felt the same way, and in fact, seemed to accept he didn't. So, her reaction to all his "I thought I lost you" and "I couldn't be around people because of you" and "I died when you left" should've been a bit more....well, surprised? taken aback? confused? Instead, it was all "Ah yes, let us have The Sex!" What? It took my right out of the emotions in that moment since neither character felt like they were in an emotionally honest place in relation to S8's Doomsday.
I'm convinced that the Alia stuff was rewritten, because the way she put her hand to his face, with such familiarity? That had to be to suggest something. Otherwise, why was it there at all? And its too bad, because in the end, the Clark/Alia stuff amounted to absolutely nothing. What a throwaway. Unless there is some twist left to come.
Good point about the lack of mention of anyone not in this episode. Thats lame.

You have a point. I still think though that if I were to offer some leeway here, it'd probably be just about understanding where Lois was coming from. Clark' side didn't make any sense at all though.
I'm beginning to think the Alia stuff was rewritten too. They probably wrote that then didn't know what to do with it or where to go with it, so they just dropped it.

This especially bothered me because these people could have been relevant in the context of the ep. But nope, nothing. Typical for the SV writers though - out of sight, out of mind.
