Happy New Year~!

Jan 01, 2009 13:12

So, I was planning to do a year-end and resolution post, a reflection post, and my favorites of 2008, but that totally went down the drain yesterday. haha. I don't really have the energy to do it anymore. We'll see, we'll see. It might come up somewhere in January. LOL. Super late, but at least I did it, no?

Yesterday/last night/early morning was quite tiring. After posting up my last LJ entry of 2008, I cleaned up the kitchen while my parents went off to West Covina to pick up the food that my dad preordered and knowing my mom, buying more stuff to add onto it. Yup, just as I expected, when they got back, there was quite a load of food. There was more turon, empanadas, palabok, bibingka, puto, bread, and other random food which is just an addition to what my mom brought back from the Philippines.

I would occasionally check in on my computer to check if the Tohoshinki appearances of DOOM were being uploaded.

Well, I call it that because they had no sleep from the 31st to the 1st. They appeared in quite a few programs and even a radio show. Oh, and on top of that, they traveled back to Korea later on in the 1st. WOW.

I was also working on cleaning my external HD for a bit, and I did a great error by deleting a fancam that I didn't want to get deleted. I was texting Tiffany to see if she had it, and then I found it with a bit of backtracking, and asking her if she could rip it. Yeah, too bad it's proving to be of great difficulty. Oh, and we were having an entertaining conversation in our texting. haha. I called, don't worry, just be ready for next week. ROFL.

I accompanied my dad to the mechanic's shop, where my uncle's car was being repaired because he couldn't receive the car registration until it was fixed, and we didn't know until 2 days ago. Go figure. My uncle kind of fails with stuff like this. It was quite entertaining to hear him being lectured over the phone by my mom, and he's like, still in the Philippines. LOL. We had quite a light meal for dinner because everything is supposed to save up for midnight. We had lumpia sariwa (vegetable eggrolls with skin that's not cooked and has a peanut sauce that you mix around with it). Quite good.

I took a shower after that, getting ready for Kohaku @ 8~! It was quite a funny coincidence when I wore a red polka dotted shirt (polka dots are apparently good luck?) because Kohaku is a Red vs. White battle thing, and it seemed I was rooting for the red while Tohoshinki was in the white. I was chilling in my brother's room until they came up, when I ran to the living room to kick my parents out for 3 minutes. They were just browsing, so they were cool with it.
It is a weird atmosphere when you're watching your fandom with family. ROFL. No gushing or googly eyed faces must come out. haha. My mom commented that "second boy is guapo" and my dad says, "the middle is parang babae (feminine looking)". My mom didn't think so though, stating that it's obvious he's a guy. Weird, I tell you. My mom was surprised with the one I liked. She thought I was feeling Yunho. Second person to say that! I guess I look like Yunho fan? I must say, I can't take pictures for the life of me. haha. But yes, they continued to watch Kohaku with comments, until their Filipino thing came on. They used it to kill time. Oh, and my mom entered my room after Tohoshinki's performance (no backsides were revealed), and I showed her the どうして PV. She then said, "Yung gusto mo, okay sya. (The one you like, he's okay)". Thanks mom, I didn't know I was seeking for approval. LOL. She apparently likes how Changmin looks youthful. Okay....
She now knows more of my obssession. Joy.

I just chatted with Tiff, Eileen, and Michelle until midnight came. I was going in and out by helping out my parents who were setting up the dining room. My dad was very entertaining because he was wearing one of those New Years hat and he was all dressed up. Apparently he wanted to take a pic at midnight. ROFL. He prepared the tripod too. He was testing the timer thing on himself, and it was hilarious because he was too slow, so even before he was able to sit, the camera would snap already. My mom and I were just laughing at him.

The mood kind of dampered because of my brother. Right before midnight, my mom was telling us to dress up for the picture. My brother, the fantastic person he is, was working on college applications that were due on January 1. How fantastic. He was afraid that once it hits the January 1, his application will be invalid. Aish. He's a terrible procrastinator. My dad was tattling to my mom on his lack of planning while she was gone. All that jazz. Yeah, but he graced us with his presence soon enough. Jerk. We took the pictures. It was really cheesy, and my brother and I were quite embarrassed. My mom seemed to be cut off, and we were planning on taking a reshot, but that failed because my brother went away again. T___T
I ate quite a lot on midnight. Gah. More food was placed out. I can't even remember. All I know, I was full. We cleaned up and used the dishwashing machine. It was quite entertaining to see my dad figure out the placement of the dishes. Yes, my father is full of FAIL. They went to watch for Filipino shindig, and they called to the Philippines as well. I went into my room to close all the drawers because we opened all our drawers to bring us New Year's grace or something like that. I chatted more with people, and I finally went to sleep. I think I was the first one who did. How surprising~

I got up at 11:30 AM, with only my dad awake. I had my lunch and then I started on this entry. Yes, I'm quite done. I'm done with 2008 too. Hooray. Welcome, 2009. ^^
