I leave for India in a few hours, it doesn't seem real! I only booked the ticket a 2 1/2 days ago! My BESTEST Brother and Mum have been running around like mad things helping me get everything sorted. My brother even managed to sweet talk a nurse into giving me an appointment with only 2 hours notice, so that way I could get all my vaccinations. The last thing I want is to pick up Malaria, or Typhoid. The vaccinations made me feel very strange, but that is expected.
I will be online everyday (My Mum made me swear to e-mail her at least once a day, bless her). So, I should be picking up e-mails and messages. Hopefully even get some pics onto my journal while I am there.
So, who wants stuff from India?
I am starting out in Mumbai (Bombay) and then have a flight to Goa a few days later, but I might ditch that (flights are very cheap, even if its across the country) anyway, I might go to Northern India instead. I am very tempted to go to Rajasthan or Jammu & Kashmir. However, its a tough decision!.
Goa = tropical beaches
Rajasthan = just georgious, "classic India" from what I have been told.
Jammu & Kashmir = is very close to Tibet, and the Himalayas, so it does actually look like you are in Tibet, even the people look Tibeten. And, there are tons and tons of Buddhist temples.
I don't know. Sounds silly, but I will decide when I get there. Depends on SO many things.
I have to admit, I am actually scared. As a white female traveling alone, I have to admit, its not the smartest of ideas, but I am tough, and you always meet people whenever you do travel, so I am sure I will find a group to hang with.
Its so unlike me to be scared of an adventure, normally this kinda thing doesn't phase me, but this has actually got me a little apprehensive. However, I am sure I will have a truely amazing time, and hopefully get some pretty damn amazing photographs.
I have been advised to wear a wedding ring whiel I am there, and to obviously try cover as much skin as possible (aka arms and legs). I have also been advised to say I have children. I told my BF all this last night, his reaction was funny. Is it a good sign that he volunteered to be my pretend husband? Hehehehe.
Well, time to go take a nice long shower, and double check my bags, and pace the room till its time to leave.
Peace y'all!
