Never Say Never Again

At breakfast yesterday, four of us were brainstorming on what to do with the day. I needed to do a little Father's Day shopping, but that was the extent of my ambition. My friend Mikey suggested we go to the Cinema Under the Stars to see a James Bond movie. I was all over that.

1983's Never Say Never Again, directed by Irvin Kershner (omg, the director of Empire Strikes Back) is not a very good movie. But what it lacks in quality, it makes up for in 80's fashion tragedy, shocking new skin color and an appearance by Kim Basinger.

I'm not sure, but I think this is Sean Connery's last film as 007. He looks really tired, and his skin is a strange orange color. After the movie, we found ourselves speculating about it. Spray tan, sun burn... makeup?

The plot is classic Bond. A group of terrorists have two nuclear warheads, and they threaten to activate them in devastating locations unless NATO pays up. To counter this, 007 is brought back from semi-retirement to save the day.

My favorite part of the movie is Fatima Blush, the lady that keeps trying to kill Bond. I laughed out loud a few times about her outfits. So awesome.

Also in the film is a 30-year-old, not-so-fresh-faced Kim Basinger. She looks the same as she does now, but I'm thinking that's because she always looked old.

Speaking of Kim Basinger...
