Glee. Again. Yeah, I know.
Let’s assume that this blind item does in fact pertain to Blaine, that it’s real, and perhaps related to the Rachel unexpected kiss spoiler. That doesn’t change the fact that
1) It could be heavily exaggerated. Considering how parts of the blind item doesn’t even match up to Blaine, there must be a lot that is missing from this.
2) CONTEXT. CONTEXT. CONTEXT. We don’t have it.
3) This does not mean Blaine will actually be bisexual. It could simply mean he is questioning himself - which if done right can actually make sense, with the whole Blaine really not knowing as much as he thinks he does aspect of his character - and the end of the B.I. makes it sound like the character in question does make a decision. I’m pretty damn sure this will end up with Blaine sure that yes, he likes guys and only guys.
This doesn’t necessarily mean Blaine has been retconned. As far as we know, Blaine may have never even been kissed himself. This is the same guy who, after two coffee dates with Gap Guy, thinks he is in love and talks about marriage and Gap discounts. It’s okay for him to question himself. He’s really not much of a mentor as he may have thought he was after all, he’s just a teenage boy.
Yes I’m concerned about how this will be handled, and not just as a shipper, but for multiple reasons. However, SLS has made me into a bit of a, uh “Blaniac” as some are calling it now, and I don’t want people jumping on him again and calling him a jerk without context just like with WIGYA. There are many ways this can be handled. This could very well end up being another no big deal at all and end up being great for character development for Blaine and Rachel, and push forward the Kurt/Blaine relationship. Who knows. We still don't even know if this is really about him! Have we not learned from our last freak out? :(
There’s also this to consider, that this is some major trolling and was released early on purpose to get a rise out of people, and clearly it’s worked for a lot of people. Conniving little trolls! *shakes fist*
Ah, to be a part of the general audience in times like these, to have no idea any of this is going on. Must be nice!
Oh and before I forget, let us all remember…. SLOW BURN. SALT AND PEPPER SHAKERS. JOANIE AND CHACHI. COME WHAT MAY. EWEEKLY COVER.
