Season 6 of Smallville will premiere this September. Whoo! And I don’t know about you, but I’m pretty hyped and ready for the new season. But when not thinking about what could happen in the upcoming season, I look back on S5, and all the great moments it gave us.
Season 5 was great, in my opinion. It had its downs of course, but… it’s Smallville. What do you expect? I mean, really. Apart from that though, it also had its kickass moments. Moments that made me squee, moments that made me cheer. And it brought us great episodes like Lexmas, Lockdown, Vessel and others. I know that many of you are either Clexers or Chlarkers, and even Chlexers. Well... I am a Clexer for one, but I tend to have unpopular opinions, and I am one of those people who ship Lexana. Like, a lot. I heart my Clex and Lexana. Deal with it, bishes! But anyways, let’s look back on some of my own favorite scenes in this, Smallville S5 squeegasm picspam!
And feel free to comment with your own personal favorite moments in season 5. I encourage it. :)
I think at this point, I was still a bit on the fence about Lexana. No longer hating it, but still… not used to the thought. But today, I love this picture for the sheer reason that it has this sorrowful, somewhat disturbing vibe to it and Lex is holding Lana. I have a huge kink for bloodied characters, and this definitely filled my hunger for my blood!kink. Gah.
“Nice. Did you get that from a fortune cookie?” Tee hee. Yay for Snarky!Lana. We never do get enough of that side of her.
Basically, any time that Clark and Lex touch is a squeeable moment for me. Look at their faces. Clark has got that grunting, angry sex face, and Lex looks spent. Just tilt your head to the right!
Okay um, Lexmas? Best. Episode. EVER. Seriously. Well, besides Shattered. At first, I was worried that the episode would be drenched in cheese, but I was so pleasantly surprised by the way it was written. It was all just one big roller coaster of emotions for me. You see Lex in this dream world, where everything is bright and glowing, he's gotten away from the life his father wanted for him. The Kents accept him, he is still friends with Clark. He has Lana, and a beautiful son that doesn't really look like them but we can look past that. He's happy, and we've never seen that side of Lex before. Then to see him wake up in the real world after Lana dies, where everything is dark and cold. This episode no doubt solidified my love for Lex/Lana, and my hatred for Clana (the scene at the end with Clark and Lana out in the snow, after seeing Lex so happy in dreamland with his dream family. That stung. And it just felt wrong.) But onto the picture. I loved just how baffled Lex was, waking up to Lana in bed with him. So confused, and not believing what is happening. I loved his startled reaction to Alex jumping onto the bed. His face to seeing that Lana is pregnant. The “What the fu-“ Haha, Lex almost swore, yeah!
Oh, and he’s wearing plaid pajama bottoms! With a white Tee. How could one just not drool profusely at the sight?
In Lex’s dream, he and Clark are still friends. Words cannot begin to describe my happiness at that. The sad part is that thats the final Clex hug, and it is only a dream. But the important thing is that Lex dreams that he and Clark are still closest friends. I also like the following scene, with them on the deck and their arms around each other. Very sweet. A little gay.
Oh my god. Oh my god. Lex holding baby Lilly in his arms is one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen. The smile on his face killed me. Lana has never looked more beautiful than she did in that scene, glowing and happy, and just so natural. Lex has never looked happier. We have never seen him smile like that before, and it is just a beautiful sight. Which makes it hurt all the more to know that it's all a dream.
This is something that I have waited for ever since I began watching the show. I always wanted a moment where Lex at least sheds a tear. And he did. And it broke my heart. You know what? It doesn’t matter if it was just a dream. We got to see Lex cry. And whether you like it or not, Lex said that he has always loved Lana, that is the truth. Not Clark, certainly not Chloe, but Lana. Live with it.
Kickass Lana, yeah baby! I. Loved. This. Lana. She took charge, she took care of Lex and didn’t freak out and cry. She did the best she could to help keep Lex alive. And let us not forget the line, “Clark as really nice hair.” Out of all the random things that he could think about, Clark’s hair pops up into his head. The hoyay never dies, y’all. It never dies. I loved Lana’s little laugh after he said that. And the way she acted when Lex was telling her about his dream. I think she truly does understand Clark and Lex’s relationship, and I will never believe that she would go all “icky!” if Clark and Lex were to be together.
And Lana? Sweaty, straddling Lex? *SQUEEGASMS*
Um. I like to mute this scene. Slow-mo it. And pretend that Clark isn’t asking where Lana is. He is consoling Lex, telling him that he’s going to be okay, and he’ll be there with him every step of the way. Just look at Clark’s face! So concerned. I’m telling you, that’s what his face says. Don’t burst my bubble!
Lex’s hurt face when Lana says she doesn’t think they should be business partners anymore, to when Lana then says they should try being friends. I loved when he just burrows his face into her hair, he needs her friendship so much. And jealous!Clark watching from afar. Mwahaha.
I cannot say this episode made me squee or cheer. This wasn’t that kind of episode. But it was great nonetheless. If I start, I won’t be able to stop. But the funeral scene was one of the greatest scenes. The snow, the barn animals, Clark putting the necklace on Martha. Complete sorrow. Lana’s small hand in Clark’s, it was one of the few Clana moments I actually liked. I think when they started lowering the coffin into the grave, I could have broke right then and there. But basically, everything about that scene was shot beautifully. Everything.
*Sniff * Miss ya, Daddy Kent.
Best Chloe and Lois pictures evah!
More Clex touchage! It looks like Lex is all looking desperately to the people behind the scenes, “You gotta stop having us meet like this. It's is getting a little ridiculous.”
RIP Clana. After five years of a repitious relationship going absolutely nowhere... you finally kill it off. The best thing was that is actually felt as if it was over forever. Hee, and let me just say that I love Lana adding in “forever.” It’s about damn time.
And at the end of the episode, we get some Clex undertones. Lex, “Being in a relationship with Clark isn’t easy.”… !!! What I heard? It wasn’t easy being boyfriends with Clark when they weren’t blowing each other, basically. *squee!*
I only put this picture in because this has become my favorite screen capture of Lana ever. So beautiful when so fucked up. This picture made me want to see KK play fucked up characters. Whee! I unfortunately didn’t get to see this episode though. So I don't really have anything more "insightful" to say about this. Hmph.
There is something so inexplicably HOT about Lex Luthor in a girl’s dorm room. I demand a scene with Lex and Lana fucking on Lana’s dorm bed. Chloe had better not interrupt them this time, though.
Here you have it, the kiss. The slight hesitance, and gentleness. Though I’m just posting this kiss, the second kiss is much hotter... even if it's so frickin' dark. I love that Lana, earlier telling Chloe that she will be nobody’s prey, decides to play the aggressive one here, pulling Lex in and laying a big one on him. I liked the little things, like Lana running her hand over Lex’s bald head. Didn’t much love Lana running off afterwards, however. If I were her, I’d jump that man and do him! But hey. She got it right next time ;)
Speaking of next time! I loved it all. Lana waiting for Lex. Lana, calm and collected while Lex seems subtly nervous, nice role reversal there. And Lana’s smile when she knows why Lex was homesick. When Lex stood up and pulled her up with him, guh. And then… then! The kiss! Not just a kiss, but a 10+ second, lip-locking, tongues, arms around each other kind of kiss. The chemistry was amazing. The best part? Clark watching! Clark is watching his ex-girlfriend and ex-boyfriend making out. This was the perfect moment for a Clexana threesome! The one thing that would make this scene even hotter. And then Clark stalks off. Perhaps to his fortress of solitude, to mope. To masturbate to the image while moping.
My question; what did they do after the scene ended? I must know, this is vital information, people!
Bwahaha! I'm not a big lover of SV Lois/Clois but that was just an hilarious scene. Poor Lois! And hey, an excuse to show off Tom Welling’s comedic timing.
I loved, loved, loved this. Lana looked so giddy to have brought Lex a gift, you can see the skip in her step. And it is a genuine gift for Lex. You wonder… how often has that happened to Lex? Not often enough. Lex however, seemed more interested in Lana than the nightgown. But anyways, just… such a cute moment, but not too cute. I wonder how Lana knew his size *waggles eyebrows*
Not many men can pull off looking hot in hospital pajamas while packing heat. Lex is just gifted like that. And his ARM! Damn, he has seriously been working out.
Let me just say; Clark did not save Lana. Lex protected Lana with his body. If Clark hadn’t been there, Lana would still be okay. Unless the bullet went right through Lex and hit Lana, she would be fine. Clark did however save Lex (whee). Lex risked his own life for Lana's, and the fact that unlike Clark, he is vulnerable, and that just means a little more. But anyways. What I loved about this is Lana sinking naturally into Lex’s arms. Them putting their arms around each other, it was just like the end of an action/drama film, boy saves the day and gets the girl. Lex looked like the big protector, he was the hero after all, and Lana just sinks into him, thankful that he saved her life. And again, Clark is watching from afar. Boo.
Chlarkness. Chloe gets her by-line! Clark is proud of her, I’m proud of her. We're all proud of her! Awwwww.
Lana suggesting that hey put a moratorium on the Clark topic. And…
Lex: Twist my arm.
Lana: Don’t tempt me.
Kiiinky. I think Lex may have squeegasmed a little bit on the inside, too.
I didn't except to see something like this so soon. I love how they both look so content. And we’ve never seen Lex like that before. I don't believe we've ever seen Lex sleeping before, with the exception of Bound... and you all know how that went. But I hope to see more of this next season, Lex and Lana embracing, content... hopefully nekkid next time.
Kristin Kreuk did such a fantastic job in this scene. Her reaction to Lex shooting his own hand was perfect. So scared, confused, yet awestruck at what just happened. This was one of her best performances on the show. Lex told her the truth about him, which is something that Lana wants so much, and he gave her the choice to back out. And Lana chose to stand by her man in the end, all on her own. Go. Lana.
This is a moment that people have been waiting for, for six seasons. The final Clex scene of the season. Clex fight. No holds barred. The one thing I did not like however, was how even though Clark couldn't kill Lex in the end, the writers seemed to have forgotten the friendship they had, and what we unfortunately never got to see enough of throughout the series. Boo to that.
Another fantastic shot. The camera panning up to Lex, er, Zod, looking down at all of the destruction. Hands down, one of the absolute best shots I've ever seen. We also get another taste of kickass!Lana. Where Lana was able to fight off one of the guys, Chloe couldn’t get out of it. Lana was the strong one here. Lana no longer needs Clark to save her at every waking moment.
Michael Rosenbaum did an even better job in this scene. His acting throughout was great but he was phenomenal here, and he didn’t even need to speak once. Just the changes of facial expressions alone, he did excellent. I’m sure some people were all “Oh groan, even Zod loves Lana.” But whatever. Zod must have sensed that for some reason, he was supposed to be here at this building (Lex telling Lana to meet him there should she decide to stay) and he must have sensed that this human had these certain emotions for Lana. Anyways. I loved Lana’s speech. It was everything that Lex needed to hear. It was Lana saying that she doesn’t know what it is that they have, but she would like to find out. That she isn’t going to abandon him like everybody else has. And damn it, I so wish that Lex could have listened to that speech. So much. The kiss… very hot, and the sky, the camera panning over the destruction, it was haunting.
So, next season; Is Zod gonna knock Lana up? ;)
(... let's hope not)
And there you have it. Moments of S5 SV that made me go squeeeeee! And like I said before, feel free to share your own favorite moments of season 5. But please, keep it clean. That means absolutely no fighting or shipper wars. It's all about the happy.
Now, I’m just waiting for S6 to come, more moments that make me all giddy. Discussing and squeeing over the Lexana and Clex with people, the promo pics, the episode reviews. Gah. Can’t. Wait.
