I haven't been anywhere but back and forth to work, if you don't count that excursion to buy plants and stuff for the apartment. Who knew I had to carry a gun to go shopping? But I do know how to pack martinis wherever I go.

There are a few things even Callisto couldn't make me forget.

Luke had walked Toshiko back home, and, for a lack of anywhere better to go, headed back to the beach and the Falcon, though instead of boarding the downed starship, he'd tugged off his boots and headed down the shore. He was glad they'd ended up here. It was so peaceful and sometimes - like now - they happened on other citizens.

He raised a hand in quiet greeting as he came nearer to the yellow-haired woman, signaling he meant her no harm, and was just passing through. She had something - cigarettes? - he didn't quite recognize.

The face of the stranger walking in her general direction is oddly familiar at first, but she doesn't think she knows him.

He lifts his hand, and in reply she aims a faint smile at him when she's sure he's near enough to notice. There's no reason she can't be polite. It's only when he's practically in front of her that she finally connects his face to the large ship occupying real estate in the sand and the woman she talked to once over the network.

So much for fictional.

She does her best to keep any recognition off her face. "It's a good night for walks on the beach."

He wasn't going to bother her outside maybe a warning about being out at night - serial killer out there, after all - but she speaks, so he slows to a halt.

"I bet it would be." She wouldn't have complained about a light rain as accompaniment to the sunset over the water, she thinks.

So you didn't come because of the rain?

It's gotta be the rain, huh?

Then again, she rather likes the rain. She can't help it. Of the last two heavy rains she's experienced, one reunited her with Spike and the other saw her coaxing him out for a drink.

Holding her cigarette between her fingers, she exhales smoke away from him. "You're out here often then?"
