i've been thinking about the last episode lately...
so do you think spike really loved julia? or was it an obsession focused around his bad memories with vicious? is julia his desperate attempt to find meaning in those events? or were they really star crossed lovers?
what made me question this was the last episode... after annie dies, spike and julia could have made a run for it... but he decides to fight... she offers to stay with him, and he hardly puts up a fight. if he was so madly in love with her, wouldn't he just be grateful for their re-unification and try to get out of there so nothing happens to her? or am i interepreting this wrong?

"JULIA: You don't need weapons like that just to run away...
Spike is silent.
JULIA: You're going to go... I'll go with you. Until the very end, I'll be
with you.
SPIKE: I'm sorry. I'm gonna make a bit of a scene."
