[A rather shocking image is displayed across the screen. On a decrepit crumbling wall of an unidentifiable building, Alex Shepherd hangs limply in a crucifixion pose. Not bound by nails as per tradition, he instead has two short-bladed-- yet sturdy-- knives shoved in the center of each of his palms. His feet are bound together with rope, and his head lays helplessly against his right shoulder, just barely exposing one tear-stained cheek.
More disturbing than that, however, is the way his once pressed and pristine blue shirt has been torn opened down the center, ragged and ripped, as opposed to properly unbuttoned. It hangs haphazardly from his right shoulder and left arm, exposing his body for all to see. And with that reveal comes the haunting symbol of the Crimson King carved across the full length of his chest.
It might be hard to discern at first, but eventually the sound of Alex's own voice will become loud enough to hear. His words are hurried yet monotone, almost delirious, as he prays to God for the deliverance of his soul. Again. And again. And again. And again. As though he's caught in a never-ending loop.
Due to the lighting, it's difficult to tell if the setting is indoors, though if one cares to look closely enough, they'll notice that there's no wind blowing. In fact, the entire image is impossibly still, and it may even seem like it's just an image, if not for the continuous sound of Alex's chants.]
