When Betty Hill committed herself to removing all trans fats from her home cooking, even she had her doubts. But now, there's no doubt that Hill has finally developed the perfect peanut butter mini-marshmallow cookie recipe--with none of the artery clogging side effects.

"I just kept trying and trying and trying, and I think I've got it this time" announced Hill from her Mountain Avenue East home. "There were a lot of lousy batches, but this last batch was a winner as far as I'm concerned."

Despite Hill's firm belief in her recipe, she still wanted a second opinion.

"I always liked Bill Clinton, he wasn't so bad for a U.S. President, and I heard he liked to eat, so I sent him his own batch."

Hill has yet to hear back from the former president, but she's not worried. "I know he's a busy man with that book he wrote and all. But at least he'll have them to himself--that wife of his is so skinny, one would wonder if she eats at all."

On a related note, the Clintons were having "baked goods issues" of their own. According to the New York Times, The US postal service stopped a "suspicious package" en route to the politician's home, but was later discovered to be a package of cookies from an unknown admirer. Goodlands Daily News has yet to confirm any connection.

Special Note to Goodlands Daily News subscribers
As many of you may have noticed, there was no daily update to yesterday's online edition. As a result, we will be re-posting our special issue, "Why we're better than Deloraine: A guide for Goodlands" at a later date.

The missing issue was a result of Bill Wolfe's malamute husky eating the news. All of us in the newsroom sincerely apologize, and hope that the dog had indigestion.
