Icon Post #18: Farscape
[22] Stark for round 21 at farscape_20in20
Quick note: for the category set for this challenge is inspired by erinm_4600 and this set of Singin' in the Rain icons in particular. I interpreted their style as trying to really capture what the scene or moment is about through careful dropping and naturalistic coloring that still pops. I tried to find moments of action or moments that display the relationship between two characters and let those moments speak for themselves without adding a ton of textures or blending or text. From imitating their style, I can guess that erinm_4600 probably devotes a lot of icon-making time to finding the right screencaps that--when cropped and colored--bring to mind a particular moment in the source material. Which ultimately results in people looking at the icons reliving their favorite moments of their favorite films. Pretty cool and kind of baroque, like an Artemisia Gentileschi painting but without the decapitation.
