no more pizza
Well, I did it again. I just couldn't take being there at pizza hell any longer. Tonight was the owner's brother's (for simplicity's sake, let's just call him Wazoo -- it fits) turn to micromanage and belittle the staff. It was not good. Finally, after about 4 1/2 hours of it, the final straw came when the dickhead belittled me in front of a customer, pointing to a tag saying "it's in plain English". First off, my girlfriend's cats speak better English than he does. It was just too much, so I chucked the customer's pizzas on the floor, saying "Fuck you! I quit!" (Which is what I said 8 days ago there, but the owner somehow talked me into staying on there.) I got into my car and started to leave when Wazoo pointed to the top on my car, where the Domino's sign was. I stopped, removed the sign (I sure as fuck didn't want it!) and threw it into the dumpster, or at least tried (I missed getting it in). I then peeled away.
Fortunately, when I called my gf she was able to help talk me down. I ended up calling the owner, letting him know that I quit. He called Wazoo then called me back. I let the owner know that it wasn't his fault, which is true -- not directly, anyway.
So I'm out a large fraction of my income now. Great....
Hopefully the tutoring place can give me more hours. Or some civilized work environment can.
I've been delivering those damn pizzas for eight whole fucking years now. That fact will probably be a permanent source of shame and embarrassment for me for the rest of my life. It's been that long that I've been away from what I'm supposed to be doing for a living.
It was bound to happen sometime. It just would have been nice if I could have actually planned my departure. I hate it when I lose my shit like that. It very rarely happens, usually after an extended period of intense provocation. I hate acting so dishonorably.
At least I won't have to feel guilty about missing my pizza job this coming weekend at the conference. I no longer have it to lose.
May you all have ways of making money in which you don't have to eat shit....
