Okay, so I have a cold that decided to sit on my throat and laugh...however I can't laugh back. I sound like a laryngitis (?) case when I do talk, and when I can't (which is most of the time) I can just barely manage a whisper. It kinda sucks...a lot...but so it goes. Thanks to everyone for the "get better!"s and such. I'm trying, I swear! And the fact that I have all weekend (despite many other activities) to sit and drink warm soup is keeping me optimistic.
I don't even think he reads this, but I want to send out an extra thank you to Sean. He's been really sweet throughout me being sick, and even if it is a weird random cold, he's made me feel a lot better every day. He's a big one on optimism and mind over matter, learning from the best, and it really inspires me. It may sound silly in this context, but I guess it's just one opportunity to express what I feel on an daily basis. He brought me flowers, my favorite red gerber daisies, Wednesday night after rehearsal as a "feel better" gift. To me, the flowers didn't matter nearly as much as the fact that he thought of it, and went that extra mile, as usual, to make me feel better. He always does that, and for those of you that are still reading this, I think it's important you know stuff like this, because then you can know Sean. He embodies positive attitude even when everything says not to, and I love him for that.
Hi Landmesser.
Anyway, Pleasantville is going very well. I'm really pleased with the first two rehearsals, even through my relative silence. Everyone is emotive and enthusiastic, and it makes a world of difference. So far it's just rough blocking, and there's some stuff I need to go back and play around with, but I can't believe how good it's looking already. Mr. Mac said that he's really liking what he's seeing, and once I can actually communicate on Monday, rehearsals will be even better. (Promise, guys!) I said this in the mass email I sent out to cast, but I want to thank everyone again for your patience with me this week, not only starting a new show with a new cast and everything, but with me not at the top of my game. I'm trying very hard and I really appreciate your cooperation. It looks fantastic and I'm so excited for thiscoming week.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO NICK, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO NICK, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO NIIIIIICK!!!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO NICK!!!!! (Nick's 17th this past Tuesday was fun times. I'm glad he enjoyed his super-chocolate cake and I hope tomorrow night works out! *yay 17!*)
Anyway, I'll update next A day. See you theater folk on Monday, and everyone else....sometime. Have a fantastic weekend. :-)
