easy as pie! (I hope)

I just baked a pumpkin pie, for the Karyn-and-Jeremy Halloween funness, which will be going down roundabouts tomorrow night. The pie is cooling on the kitchen counter, and my apartment smells like cinnamon and nutmeg (mostly on account of how I accidentally spilled quite a lot of cinnamon all over the sink, but nevertheless: a good smell, indeed!). I haven't made a pie in two years (eeps!) and I've never made a pumpkin pie before, so it's hard to say for sure whether or not my mad stab at Betty Crockerness has been successful. But I'm feeling shamelessly optimistic. Likewise, I think that the hardest thing about baking a pumpkin pie will just be ignoring the yumminess until party-time. [Insert tragic sigh here]
