OOC: Peter Pan in Scarlet

"Tell me a story, Mama!"

SPOILER ALERT!
Taking a brief moment here to talk about the new authorized sequel to Peter Pan that's just been published - Peter Pan in Scarlet, by Geraldine McCaughrean.

First of all: it's actually pretty good. ^^ I had my doubts. I find some of the plot twists and inconsistancies a little irritating, but all in all a good solid rattling tale, by Lucifer! and worth a go if you liked the original. Yes, Hook is back, and just as villainous as ever, with a few nice touches (crocodile-skin boots anyone?) and some nice character-building sections (Old Etonians never die, they just hoard their school trophies like a dragon).
That aside, if you're a fan, buy the book. Donations go to a very good cause for your doing so, and there's more Hook for your money. :P

Now, to business: character information. Seeing as the Captain Hook I play here is based very firmly before the end of the original J M Barrie tale (not dead, still afraid of crocodiles), the events in this new book aren't really going to affect him much at all. I'm sticking with the JV Hart account of his youth, rather than some of the events referred to in Geraldine McCaughrean's version, as there are some rather glaring clashes (Where's your mother, James?) and the last thing the poor captain needs is a plot hole to fall into on top of everything else.

There. I think I'm done gibbering now, and can hand you back to the captain in good heart.
