I'm sure pirates aren't supposed to just give treasure away, are they? (even if it is to fine ladies masquerading as pirates...)
It seemed the right gesture at the time, and I have no regret of it.
It also seems I'm not alone in being haunted by something unwelcome in my past. Strange how many people are willing to listen...and how many to share stories in return.
